High Potency Lutein

Lutein and zeaxanthin are two antioxidant carotenoids that are essential for healthy eyes. In fact lutein is found in large concentrations in the macula. Since the body cannot make lutein, it must be obtained through the diet or supplements. Research shows that lutein intake corresponds to the amount of lutein in the macula of the eye where it protects the eyes by blocking harmful blue-light rays. Studies indicate a correlation between lutein and a lower risk of eye disease, especially as we age.

These carotenoids help protect against ultra-violet light and other free-radical damage and may be helpful in treating macular degeneration, cataracts, night blindness, retinal injury and glaucoma.

Our product contains Lutemax™ 2020 lutein, a naturally-derived marigold extract providing all three macular carotenoids — lutein plus enhanced levels of both zeaxanthin isomers (RR-and RS [meso]-zeaxanthin) — at the same 5:1 ratio found in nature, to optimally support eye health.
