Oregon Grape root (Berberis nervosa) is a source of the compound berberine, traditionally used to support healthy gastric mucosa as well as healthy blood sugar levels. It is also anti-microbial, and may be a good substitute for the over-harvested Goldenseal which contains the same substance.
