What Does Lutein+ for Kids Do?
Eye Function: Lutein and zeaxanthin are dietary carotenoids found most abundantly in dark, leafy green vegetables. These carotenoids concentrate in the macula (maculae is the plural) of the eye. The maculae are responsible for sharpness of vision. Lutein and zeaxanthin, including meso-zeaxanthin, provide important protection against the oxidizing effects of sun and artificial blue light (from computers, smartphones and LED lights, for example).
Brain Function: Lutein and zeaxanthin also concentrate in the brain where, according to research, these carotenoids may play an important role in the neural development of infants and children.
