Enzymedica's Natto-K, with Nattokinase Blend containing NSK-SD, is a potent enzyme formula designed to help body’s production of plasmin (an enzyme produced naturally to dissolve clots). Natto-K may encourage heart health by helping to the body produce more of the clot dissolving plasmin enzyme. Natto-K is a formulated blend of nattokinase, protease, lipase, amylase, and cellulase Thera-blend™ enzymes which promote blood circulation on top of supporting cardiovascular health.
Dr. Hiroyuki Sumi, credited with the discovery of Nattokinase, was a researcher of the Japan Ministry of Education and majoring in physiological chemistry at the blood laboratory of the University of Chicago. Where he conducted research focused on thrombolytic enzymes (enzymes that break down blood clots). Dr. Sumi noted that a part of the Japanese food known as natto exhibited a strong fibrinolytic activity. Fibrin proteins form and circulate through the blood and stick to blood vessel walls. He found that fibrin proteins contributed to the formation of clots, by slowing blood flow and increasing viscosity of the blood (i.e., making the blood more like thick and sticky). Dr. Sumi called the corresponding fibrinolytic enzyme, used to fight the fibrin proteins, “nattokinase.”

Take 1 capsule right before bed. For a therapeutic effect, take 1 capsule 3 times a day on an empty stomach. More can be taken as needed (up to 6 capsules a day.)
